Writing today is a superpower.
Through writing, you can persuade your partner, acquire funding to start a business, or gain clients with the right techniques.
More clients mean a higher open rate & conversion rate.
That’s exactly what you’ll learn from this post—how to acquire more clients through proper methods.
Here are 19 of them, let’s get started.
1/ Use Superlative Forms
The superlative always wins over the comparative.
“19 Best Tips” looks better than “10 Good Tips,” doesn’t it?
From a psychological standpoint, the superlative degree will always win because it shows that something is the best, not just better. And we, as humans, like the best solutions, not just the good ones.
That’s why want to read, receive, and have an impact on the best things.
Using superlatives increases the number of clicks on your post.
> 11 Best Tips How to Lose Weight
> 13 Best Methods How to Gain Robust Traffic
> 25 Best Email Subject Lines to Increase Open Rate
The superlative degree has a justified outcome, and the above examples are just a confirmation of that.
2/ Optimize Meta Description
Your meta description can’t be too long, neither too short.
Ideally: between 50 and 60 words.
To be very precise: meta descriptions can only accommodate a 600-pixel-like container, not more.
What does this mean?
You need to pay attention to the number of words you use. But that’s not all—the letters also matter.
The letter “I” contains fewer pixels than the letter “W”.
So, choose your words wisely.
To gain more clicks, your meta description can’t be too short (non-informative, though), nor too long (it’ll be truncated by Google).
A better meta description means higher SEO & more clicks on your posts.
3/ Incorporate Numbers
Numbers bring order to the text.
If your reader sees a number, they immediately know what to expect and can estimate how long they’ll spend reading your article.
So, introduce numbers, but not cliché ones.
More precisely: odd numbers and greater than 10.
Numbers less than 10 suggest to the reader that something is “trivial”, leading them to skip your post.
The numbers 5, 10, 15 have been used so often that it’s challenging to surprise your reader with them.
Therefore, be creative with your choices.
Pro Tip: Use a number that is 10 higher than the highest on the first page of Google.
If the highest position is taken by posts with numbers like 11, 14, or 15, write at least +10 numbers.
People tend to think that the post with the highest number is the most comprehensive and provides the most information on a certain topic.
4/ Use Imperative in Your Copy
Command words grab the reader’s attention instantly.
They prompt immediate action or response.
Verbs like “Discover,” “Learn,” “Buy Now” are powerful.
They make your message clear and direct.
This approach energizes your content & guides readers on what to do next.
Imperatives create a sense of urgency.
Use them to make your copy dynamic and actionable.
5/ Ask Questions
Questions engage the reader’s curiosity.
Everyone loves being asked questions because it means they must respond, and that brings attention to them.
And let’s face it—we, as people, love attention.
Questions make your content interactive.
Start with “Why”, “How to”, or “What.”
Questions can personalize your message.
They encourage readers to seek answers.
This makes your content more relatable.
Questions can also lead to higher engagement.
Use them to connect with your audience.
6/ Be Specific with Your Message
Vague messages often lose readers’ interest.
Specificity hooks the reader’s attention.
It’ll make your content more engaging & understandable.
Detail what the reader will gain. Be benefit-oriented.
Avoid generalizations in your copy. But don’t exaggerate with the details.
Tailor your message to the reader’s needs.
Specifics help build trust.
Clarity in messaging boosts CTR significantly.
And it doesn’t matter whether you’re writing a persuading email, or another blog post—clarity is a must.
7/ Don’t Use Passive Voice
Passive voice dilutes your message’s impact.
> Ticket Purchase.
So, what?
> Buy tickets here
Don’t confuse your readers & clients.
It makes sentences longer and less direct.
An active voice engages and holds attention.
It makes your writing more powerful.
Focus on who is doing the action.
Active sentences are unequivocal and more concise.
Passive structures can confuse your readers.
Use active voice for stronger copywriting and to gain your readers’ attention.
8/ Less Means More
> Email Subject Lines: 1-5 words
> Sentences: 5-10 words
> Paragraphs: 3-7 words
Short sentences make your point quickly.
They are easier to read and understand.
Long sentences will lose the reader’s curiosity.
No interest = higher bounce rate & no visitors.
Brevity ensures clarity in your message.
Use fewer words for more impact.
Conciseness makes your writing more digestible.
Avoid unnecessary words or jargon. Especially in very technical industries.
Simple, clear copy resonates better with audiences. And they could really feel your style.
Keep it sweet & short, it’ll really help.
9/ A/B Testing
A/B testing refines your marketing strategy.
Change one element at a time.
This could be a headline, image, CTA, or email subject line.
Analyze the results to understand preferences.
Testing helps optimize content for better results.
Test two variants to see which performs better.
But it’s not that easy.
Pro Tip: Always test only one variable.
Otherwise, how would you know what really caused the change?
And don’t forget: rely on data from tests to enhance your copy & overall results.
10/ Prioritize Keywords to Get Higher Rankings
Keywords connect your content with the audience.
Choose a few keywords for a given post.
If you’re writing about SEO, mainly focus on those keywords. If it’s about email marketing, include as many relevant words in that area as possible.
However, be aware of keyword stuffing.
Having more than 2–3% of the same words in a post can negatively impact your website’s ranking.
Therefore, use them strategically within headlines & content.
Incorporate keywords naturally into your content, don’t force them in.
You can also easily influence the ranking of your post in the search engine. How?
As one of the last sentences, add the full title of your post, word by word.
Do it naturally, as a continuation of the entire content.
The most important thing is that it should sound natural and look that way too. Nobody wants to play with black-hat SEO techniques.
11/ Highlight Benefits
Benefits answer the ‘why’ for your audience.
They focus on what the reader gains.
And this is how the reader turns into a customer.
After all, this is the end goal in the marketing game, right?
Highlighting benefits addresses the reader’s needs directly. There’s no need to beat around the bush.
Benefits are more compelling than features.
Be solution-oriented. Show how your product or service solves problems.
Benefits can increase reader engagement and trust.
Use them to make your CTA more persuasive.
Emphasize benefits throughout your content to give your client gain a few touchpoints with your brand.
12/Use Emotional Triggers
Emotional triggers create a deep connection.
Emotions are fundamental because our purchasing decisions are based on them.
Emotions can evoke desire, fear, or joy.
Utilize them to make your content prominent, engaging & fun.
That’s why motions drive decision-making in consumers.
Craft your message to stir specific feelings.
If you sell boats, cars, or expensive watches—this rule applies to them all.
Understand your audience and their emotional triggers.
Use emotions to make your brand memorable forever.
13/ Leverage Social Proof
“I bought it because my neighbor also got one.”
Sounds familiar? Probably doesn’t surprise you.
That’s why social proof builds trust with your audience.
It includes testimonials, reviews, and endorsements.
Use them as often as you can.
Display social proof prominently in your marketing.
User-generated content acts as powerful social proof. So, ask your clients to write good reviews for your company.
Social proof sways purchasing decisions.
Incorporate social proof into every touchpoint with your client to enhance credibility.
14/ Use Strong Calls-to-Action (CTAs)
This is the right example.
CTAs guide users on what to do next. And sometimes make them laugh (mission complete).
A strong CTA can make your customer buy something they hadn’t planned.
But the lack of a CTA can cause a customer not to buy something they want.
Make your CTA clear, concise, and noisy.
Use action words like ‘Subscribe,’ ‘Buy,’ ‘Learn.’
Fully rely on the imperative to create a strategy for your CTA.
Place CTAs strategically in your content, and use a different color to contrast the difference.
Personalize CTAs for different audience segments.
Test different CTAs to see what works best.
A strong CTA will skyrocket your conversion rates.
15/ Personalize Your Content
Email Marketing? Address the customer by name, they’ll love it.
Personalization makes your content more relevant.
It addresses the individual needs of your audience.
Use data to tailor your message.
Personalized content will significantly boost engagement.
It also increases the relevance of your marketing campaign, and makes your brand unforgettable.
Personalize emails (a must), ads, and web content.
Data shows that email personalization can increase the open rate by up to 50%. That’s a colossal change.
Personalization equals a higher conversion rate and way more leads.
16/ Use Eye-Catching Images
Hell yeah, Durex knows how to do it.
Images also grab attention faster than text, around 60 times.
They can convey emotions and concepts quickly.
Use high-quality, relevant images.
Visuals should complement your content.
Infographics and all types of visuals enhance understanding right away.
Images break up text, making it more readable, and help your readers gain momentum (as a while ago).
A/B test different images to see what works.
Infographics also increase the number of backlinks, on average, by 30%.
Do you want to boost your SEO quickly? Don’t forget about image-based content.
17/ Create a Sense of Urgency
Urgency prompts quick decision-making.
Use limited-time offers to create urgency.
Example: Booking.
“Only 3 rooms left.” True? Not necessarily. Did it make you book your accommodation faster? Mission complete.
Phrases like the abovementioned are effective. Make your reader feel that they can really lose something.
Urgency leads to increased conversions in any given area.
Create urgency in a genuine way.
Note: Don’t confuse urgency with being pushy. It’ll be counterproductive.
Countdown timers will visually enforce urgency.
Urgency should not feel manipulative but motivating. This is the key to its meaning.
18/ Simplify Your Design
Again—less means more.
Overload doesn’t lead to sales, but to cart abandonment and a lack of trust.
Simple designs are more user-friendly.
Simplicity helps users focus on the key message. It leads to a better user experience and higher sales.
Avoid cluttered or overly complex designs.
Another principle must be mentioned: black text on a white background. Other fancy ideas won’t work out.
Make navigation intuitive and straightforward.
Limit your navigation to 3–6 categories.
And forget about ‘home’ It’s not necessary anymore. Everybody knows that clicking on your logo leads to the main page.
19/ Don’t Use ChatGPT
Don’t get me wrong—it’s a great tool and generates fantastic ideas.
But if you want to win your audience—write yourself.
Write in your own way. Exactly as you would write it.
Your style is you. If you write as you speak, you convey your character through words.
And that’s how you captivate your audience.
Using appropriate prompts to create text is good, but it will never reflect your true self.
I tried writing this way, but it still wasn’t me, so I stopped.
Generating ideas and making corrections; great.
Writing copy-paste with Chat; never.
